Overview

Fiber gives a campus or county complex the fastest bandwidth it can buy, and also the slowest to restore. When a construction crew cuts the line, repair can take days, and every building behind that fiber goes dark with it.

The Peplink Balance 310 Fiber 5G takes the fiber hand-off directly into an SFP WAN port, adds a gigabit Ethernet WAN and a USB WAN, and keeps an embedded 5G modem with redundant SIM slots ready as a live path. The LAN side provides five gigabit ports, a second SFP port and a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 access point, with 1 Gbps router throughput for 50 to 500 users.

Hot Failover, smoothing and bandwidth bonding run across fiber and 5G together, so sessions carry over to cellular when the fiber fails. It is built for indoor telecom rooms and rated 0 to 40 °C.
