Overview

Grocery stores, fuel stations, hotels and car washes run cameras, access points, phones and kiosks that all stop when the network stops. Most of these sites end up with a router, a separate PoE switch and a cellular gateway stacked in a closet, each with its own power supply and its own point of failure.

The Peplink Balance 310 5G replaces that stack with one chassis: an embedded 5G modem with redundant SIM slots, 10G Ethernet and 10G SFP+ WAN ports, eight 2.5G LAN ports with up to 240W of 802.3at PoE+, and dual-band Wi-Fi 7. Router throughput reaches 4 Gbps for 50 to 500 users.

Hot Failover, smoothing and bandwidth bonding keep sessions moving when a link drops, and dual 54V power inputs remove a single power failure point. The -40 to 65 °C rating lets it sit in closets and cabinets without climate control, and Docker support adds room to run applications at the edge.
