Overview

The Peplink Balance 310X CAT 12 (BPL-310X-LTEA-R-T) is the America build of Peplink's branch SD-WAN platform. It is the one to buy when the cellular connection is insurance rather than infrastructure — the path that has to be there on the morning a backhoe finds the fibre, not the path carrying the day's work. That single decision is what separates it from the CAT 20 and 5G models on the same chassis, and it is why it is the cheapest of the three to put into fifty sites.

The buyers are usually running a single-country estate: a chain with locations across the US, a municipality standardising its buildings, a clinic group that has to show an uptime plan to somebody. Because the unit is FirstNet Ready, an agency site and the commercial locations around it can be specified off the same line sheet instead of maintaining two hardware standards. If a site later outgrows one radio, an EXM-310X expansion module adds a second without replacing the router.
