Overview

Patrol vehicles, fire apparatus and ambulances carry more connected equipment every year: cameras, laptops, access points and in-vehicle devices that all need power and a network. A mobile command vehicle adds even more, and none of it can wait for a single carrier to recover.

The Peplink MAX HD2 MBX 5G carries two 5G modems with four SIM slots and eleven gigabit Ethernet ports configurable as up to three WANs, with up to eight 802.3at PoE+ ports on dual 54V inputs. Router throughput reaches 2.5 Gbps, with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and GPS.

SpeedFusion hot failover, smoothing and bandwidth bonding keep both modems working as one connection, and the metal enclosure is rated -40 to 65 °C for vehicle installs.
