The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2400 is a 5G Standalone (SA) router built for demanding in-vehicle deployments — fleets, public safety, and mission-critical mobility. Managed through Ericsson NetCloud, it connects everything in the vehicle while giving IT remote management, security, location, and analytics from anywhere.

5G Standalone, modular and multi-carrier

An embedded 5G SA modem unlocks advanced services like network slicing — dedicated spectrum and airtime for critical applications — and automatically falls back to Cat 20 LTE beyond 5G coverage. The R2400's reimagined modular design supports up to five internal and external modems (via plug-and-play RC1250 captive modems over 2.5 GbE) for multi-carrier resilience, and can even connect to satellite receivers for coverage in and out of cellular range. Field-upgradable modems protect your investment as radio technology evolves.

Never a blind switchover — and always located

As the first Ericsson Cradlepoint router with Dual-SIM Dual Standby, the R2400 delivers fast failover with visibility into the standby network, while an embedded eSIM lets you switch carriers over the air without changing physical SIMs. Real-Time Kinematics (RTK), GNSS/GPS, and dead reckoning provide centimeter-level location accuracy and continuous positioning even when signals are degraded — ideal for automatic vehicle location and location-aware applications.

An industry-first Wi-Fi 7 ruggedized mobile router, the R2400 packs 2.5x the compute of prior models for on-device AI inference, containers, and custom applications, and enables Zero Trust security and SD-WAN with 5G SASE across LTE, 5G, network slices, satellite, and Wi-Fi-as-WAN. It keeps working through harsh conditions — -40 °C to 70 °C, MIL-STD shock and vibration, and IP64 ingress protection — backed by Ericsson NetCloud with continuous updates and a warranty for as long as the subscription stays active.
