Overview

Fleet vehicles, field service trucks and first responder units carry laptops, cameras and devices that need one router built for the vehicle and managed from the same console as the rest of the fleet. The Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900 is a ruggedized 5G vehicle router with an embedded 5G modem that falls back to Cat 20 LTE beyond 5G coverage, Wi-Fi 6 for in-vehicle devices and GNSS with dead reckoning for location.

5G with Cat 20 LTE Fallback

  • Embedded 5G modem, automatic Cat 20 LTE fallback outside 5G coverage
  • Add a second modem with the RX30-MC accessory for dual-carrier operation
  • Add four PoE ports with the RX30-PoE accessory for cameras and devices

In-Vehicle Network

  • Wi-Fi 6 for laptops, tablets and crew devices in and around the vehicle
  • GNSS with dead reckoning feeds AVL systems and coverage maps
  • Application-aware firewall, IDS/IPS and web filtering on the Advanced plan

NetCloud Management and Terms

Policies are defined once in Ericsson NetCloud and deployed across the fleet, with remote troubleshooting, analytics and location tracking. The R1900 is sold with the required NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials or Advanced plan in 1, 3 or 5 year terms, with TAA and FIPS 140-3 options. The plan and term are chosen at order.
