Ericsson Cradlepoint W2255 Indoor/Outdoor 5G Adapter

Agencies and multi-site operators that stock one adapter for every site, inside or out, need a single model that handles both installs and provisions carriers without a truck roll. The Ericsson Cradlepoint W2255 is an IP67-rated 5G adapter for indoor and outdoor installation that adds a 5G standalone or LTE WAN to any router or SD-WAN edge over 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, with two embedded eSIMs and in-band and out-of-band management from Ericsson NetCloud.

One Model, Indoor or Outdoor

• IP67-rated housing, so the same SKU goes on a wall outside or a shelf inside
• One part number to stock and one to procure across a fleet of sites
• PoE powered over the same cable that carries data to the router

5G Standalone with Cat 20 LTE

• 5G NR Release 17, 5G standalone capable, with Cat 20 LTE
• Up to 2.4 Gbps
• Network-slicing capable, able to terminate multiple slices on a single SIM
• Two 2.5 GbE ports

Fewer Truck Rolls

Two embedded eSIMs allow carrier provisioning from NetCloud rather than a site visit. Out-of-band management and remote access to downstream LAN devices let a central team troubleshoot a branch from the console. The adapter also detects select low earth orbit satellite modems and surfaces their performance data in NetCloud, so a site running cellular beside satellite is visible in one place.

Works with Any Router

The W2255 pairs with Ericsson E-series routers in a captive-modem configuration for single-point control, and with any third-party SD-WAN or WAN router as a standard Ethernet WAN source.

NetCloud Subscription and Terms

The W2255 is sold with the required NetCloud Subscription and Warranty on the Essentials or Advanced plan, in 1, 3 or 5 year terms. A TAA option is available for public-sector procurement.
