Overview

Construction sites, temporary offices, video broadcast positions and medium-sized branches often get the best cellular signal outside the building, on a wall or a pole. The Ericsson Cradlepoint W1855 is an outdoor 5G wideband adapter in an IP-rated metal housing that mounts where the signal is strongest and feeds a 5G or LTE WAN to the existing router or SD-WAN edge over 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, with 2 Gbps passthrough and simultaneous 5G and LTE connections.

Mount It Where the Signal Is

  • IP-rated metal housing for exterior wall and pole installs on buildings and temporary sites
  • Operating range of -30 to 70 °C
  • PoE powered over the same cable that carries data back to the router
  • Wall and pole mounting brackets (170913-000) and pole clamps (170886-000) sold separately

Primary Link or Standby Path

The W1855 serves sites that need high bandwidth where fiber is not available, or a second path that does not share the wired circuit. It holds a 5G and an LTE connection at the same time and passes up to 2 Gbps through to the router. Captive modem mode puts router and adapter under one point of control when paired with an Ericsson Cradlepoint router.

NetCloud Management

Zero-touch deployment and remote management from Ericsson NetCloud, with wireless analytics in the same console as the rest of the Cradlepoint estate.

NetCloud Subscription and Terms

The W1855 is sold with the required NetCloud Subscription and Warranty on the Essentials or Advanced plan, in 1, 3 or 5 year terms. A TAA option is available for public-sector procurement.
